About Project UDAYA

The project, supported by TATA Communications Ltd. aims to promote entrepreneurship among women from SC/ST, weaker sections, SHG members and Persons with disabilities (PwD) for sustainable income generation through enterprise creation. The project has been implementing in Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts of Maharashtra. The goal is to develop entrepreneurial capabilities among potential women/PwD beneficiaries; strengthening their knowledge, skills and behavioural attributes to initiate, manage and grow enterprises for sustainable economic development.

About Udaya Project

project has been implementing in Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts (Maharashtra) to unleash the entrepreneurial potential of women from affirmative action community and Person with Disability (PwD) through capacity building training to ensure enterprise creation, employability and sustainable livelihood option.

The specific objectives are to:

Create conducive environment to entre into the economic mainstream as well as to sensitize and create awareness about entrepreneurship among women from AA community, weaker sections and PwD.
Develop entrepreneurial capabilities of women/PwD through systematic training. Strengthen knowledge, skills and behavioral attributes for initiating, planning and implementing enterprise creation activities effectively.
Provide handholding support to the potential women/PwD entrepreneurs and help them for networking with support organization to establish, manage and grow the enterprise.
Create appropriate opportunity for employee volunteering activity for the benefit of community.

Project Highlights

The project is focused on the women target group. However, Person with Disability (PwD) added from FY24 keeping in mind the experience of EDII to work for PwD to bring them in economic mainstream. The entrepreneurship ecosystem developed by the EDII is helping very well in promoting entrepreneurship among women and PwD.
